Founded in 1787 by Captain Anthony Selin, who fought with Washington in the Revolutionary War, Selinsgrove features a delightful blend of small-town friendliness and scenic countryside. Quaint shops, restaurants and businesses with an abundance of colonial and early American architecture set this town apart. You will enjoy the lazy pace as you walk thru the town to the Isle of Que and the 10K will include the Susquehanna University. Governor Simon Snyder, for whom the county is named, came here with his brother John. He kept a store, ran a mill, served as justice of the peace for 12 years and then went into politics. He was the first to rise from the ranks of the laboring class to Governor of Pennsylvania. He served three terms. Wheelchairs and strollers will have some difficulty as the town is currently installing curb cuts.As an alternative to using the OSB, the event POC supports REMOTE REGISTRATION where emails or US mail to/from the POC are used to request event registration, send directions, collect event fees, and provide stamped insert cards/books.
